01What it is

Your life is scattered across a dozen surfaces that don’t share a memory. Helm gives it one brain.

Email, calendar, Slack, your lists, the chats and CLI agents you run with Claude and ChatGPT. Every one holds a piece of your day, and none of them share a memory. Helm is the one place they all answer to: a single living file, kept fresh by agents, so the latest and most important things stay at your fingertips, whichever surface you’re in.

Surfaces you already use

Emailpulls what needs a reply
Calendarknows what's coming up
AI agentsread and write the same brain

One brain

Everything Helm knows lives in one plain-text .md file you own.

A series of agents · each reads & writes it
Chief of Staffranks your day, writes your brief
Scribefiles every capture to the right list
Correspondentworks your inbox, flags what needs a reply
Schedulerkeeps your calendar and what's coming
Analystrecaps your reports and analytics
Coachkeeps your training on cadence

What it does for you

To-do & shopping listsnow, this week, later
Follow-upswho owes you, who you owe
Progressevery track and thread, where it stands
Coming upthe sky, birthdays, sunsets, days ahead
Health & trainingyour cadence, races, and check-ins

One brain · your agents & connectors · every surface · one command center

02How it works

Throw anything at it. It files itself.

Snap a photo, jot a thought, paste a link. Helm reads it and drops it in the right list — no folders, no tagging. It captures in the app, then routes anything to where it belongs.

Try it — paste a link in the demo

03How it runs itself

One loop, running while you sleep.

You capture once. Agents keep the file current on a rhythm. You get one place to decide, and every action writes back so tomorrow starts smarter.

5You decide

You stay the decider

Agents prepare and tee up. You send, sign, and decide. The system exists to make acting easy.

04Why it's different

Tools come and go. Your context stays.

Everything Helm knows lives in one plain-text file you own, versioned in git. The interface is just a view. Change the tool, keep your context.

  • A file you own, not an account you rent
  • The point is not automation, it is attention

05Questions, answered

The things people ask.

How is this different from Notion / Obsidian / a second brain?

Those are storage — they hold what you put in. Helm is orientation: it tells you what matters across everything, and agents keep it current so it doesn't decay. Also the substrate: one plain markdown file in a repo you own, which any AI agent can read and write natively. No API keys to a vendor's database.

What's the AI? Do I need my own?

The file is open — your own Claude/ChatGPT/agents can work it directly; that's the point. Helm's built-in helpers (capture routing, the interview, updates) run server-side with zero-retention AI processing. You don't need any AI keys to use the app.

Where does my data live? Can you see it?

Plain markdown in a private GitHub repo — yours. Helm needs repo access to render and write it, and that's disclosed honestly in the privacy policy (helm.day/privacy) along with the full processor list and export/delete rights.

I'm not technical / don't use git. Is this for me?

You never touch git. The /start interview builds your file for you in a few minutes, capture files itself, and the daily rhythm runs on its own. Git is the substrate underneath — every save is a commit you can restore — not a workflow you perform.

Can I leave?

Yes, in one click — download your file anytime and run it with your own AI. Hosting and the daily brief are the paid convenience, not a lock-in. That's deliberate.

What does it cost?

Free while in beta. Early users lock founding-cohort pricing when paid tiers arrive. The wedge (capture + the file + the calm page) stays free; automation is the paid layer.

Isn't this just 'markdown files + a cron job'? I could build this.

You could — that's the honest competitor. The answer isn't 'you can't', it's 'you shouldn't have to, and you won't maintain it.' The interview sets it up with taste in minutes, and the system keeps itself current. Done-for-you plus self-maintaining is the product.

Mobile?

It's a PWA — add to home screen, capture by voice, photo, or text from the phone and it files itself under the right section.
